Yummy Gummy Sushi
  • Ingredients:
  • 6 cups (48 oz.) Kellogg's Rice Krispies® cereal
    (I use a 2 cup/16 oz. measuring cup 3 times...)

    You can also use Kellogg's Cocoa Krispies® cereal

    Or even Post Fruity Pebbles® cereal

  • 10 oz. package of Kraft® marshmallows, fresh!

  • 3 tablespoons butter (I use I can't believe it's not Butter! Light®)

  • Fruit Roll-Ups® (green works best as it matches the color of Nori wrappers...)

  • Gummy worms:

  • Either Hershey's® chocolate syrup or
    Mrs. Butter-Worth's Lite® maple syrup (to dip)

  • Non-stick vegetable spray (I use Pam®)


  • Preparation:
  • First, you need to make the Rice Krispies Treats (from scratch):

  • Melt butter in a large pot over medium heat...

  • Add marshmallows & stir until completely melted (use a spatula)

  • Remove from heat...add Rice Krispies cereal & stir until well coated.

  • Coat a 13x9 inch baking pan w/vegetable spray, along with the spatula...

  • Evenly press Rice Krispies mixture into the pan (using spatula) & chill in refrigerator.
    (Coating the spatula w/vegetable spray prevents the Rice Krispies mix from sticking...)

    Fruity Pebbles Treats

  • You will need 1 Fruit Roll-Up for each "maki-roll"...
    Unwrap a Fruit Roll-Up and lay it flat..

  • Using a paring knife, cut a portion of the Rice Krispies Treats smaller than the Fruit Roll-Up...

  • Now, 'dig' out portion of the Rice Krispies Treat block from the center...
    Be careful not to cut all the way through!

  • Place a gummy worm in the center of the Rice Krispies Treat...
    (just enough to fill the gap from top to bottom)

  • Next, carefully roll the Rice Krispies Treat to 'seal' in the gummy worm(s)
    (You should be able to see the worms from both ends...)

  • Wrap the Fruit Roll-Up around the rolled-up Rice Krispies Treat:
    If you cut a proper portion, the Fruit Roll-Up should just cover it...
    (without breaking the Fruit Roll-Up or Rice Krispies Treat)

  • Use the paring knife to quickly cut the 'roll' into slices...
    Pour some chocolate or maple syrup (as soy sauce) & serve w/chopsticks...Enjoy!
