Vanilla Buttercream Frosting

  • Ingredients:
  • ½ cup butter, softened (4 oz.)
    I use I can't believe it's not Butter! Light®
    I can't believe it's not Butter! Light

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract:
    I use Torani® Sugar Free Vanilla Syrup
    Torani Sugar Free Vanilla Syrup

  • 16 oz. package (1 lb. = 2 cups) powdered sugar

  • 1/8 teaspoon salt

  • 5 tablespoons milk:
    I use Lactaid®: (it's non-fat & calcium-enriched)
    Lactaid Calcium-Enriched Fat-Free Milk

  • ~ Makes 2 2/3 cups ~


  • Preparation:
  • Leave the butter on the counter until it is at room temperature (to soften)

  • In a medium-sized bowl,
    thoroughly mix the butter, vanilla, & salt...

  • Now add the powdered sugar & 1 tablespoon of the milk & slowly stir...
    ...add 1 tablespoon of the milk at a time!
    Use immediately or cover & refrigerate...Enjoy!

  • Serve frosting on cupcakes, baked birthday cake, etc.

  • With some fresh strawberries, wash them, cut the tops off, and slice in half vertically,
    and fill each side with this vanilla buttercream frosting...serve on a platter & enjoy!
